Tyler Mathis is a dedicated attorney at Ruppersburg Injury & Accident Attorneys, specializing in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases for plaintiffs. His practice areas include tractor trailer wrecks, car wrecks, motorcycle accidents, road defect cases, propane explosions, and other personal injury cases.
Tyler’s passion for advocating on behalf of plaintiffs stems from a personal tragedy. When his grandmother was killed by a negligent truck driver, the plaintiff’s attorney handling their case worked diligently and compassionately, providing immense support during a challenging time. This experience gave Tyler firsthand insight into the emotional and physical toll personal injuries take on victims and their families. Inspired by the dedication and care he received, Tyler is committed to offering the same level of advocacy to his clients, ensuring they receive the justice and support they deserve.
Born and raised in Dublin, Georgia, Tyler graduated from Georgia College and State University with a degree in Political Science. He then earned his J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law, where he spent four semesters working at The Veterans Legal Clinic, assisting Georgia veterans in obtaining their deserved benefits.
Tyler also founded the UGA School of Law’s First-Generation Student Association and received the Stacey Godfrey Evans Scholarship, awarded to first-generation college graduates. This student group focuses on social issues relevant to first-generation graduates and complements the First-Start Scholars Program.
Tyler resides in Athens with his wife, son, and three dogs. In his free time, he enjoys visiting his family in Middle Georgia and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
